| Try-Outs for New Swimmers |
- Please visit the link on our website to sign-up for a spot to try-out any new or transferring swimmers who do not have prior group placement approval from the FAST Staff.
- Try-outs will take place on Saturday, April 18 at Firestone.

| What if my swimmer doesn’t want to start in April or May? |

- If your swimmer does not wish to start in April or May, but wants to swim in June and July, there will be a pro-rated fee to hold their spot on the team
- This also ensure they receive Newsletters and meet sign-ups, as they come out very early for summer

| What if my swimmer won’t swim with FAST in June or July? |

- If your swimmer will not continue with FAST in June and/or July, please let us know and we will cancel their registration prior to the end month’s billing date. This must be done no later than the 15th of the month prior to ending

| Can my swimmer swim FAST and compete in Country Club/Splash League? |
- Yes, our practices are set up to allow for both. They may also participate in USA Meets, as well as AMSA meets with FAST. This is highly encouraged, so your swimmer stays in contact with the FAST coaching staff throughout the spring and summer months for continued growth and development.

| Can my swimmer swim FAST and compete in AMSA? |
- Yes, your swimmer may swim USA with FAST and AMSA with FAST. Your swimmer may also swim USA with FAST and AMSA with another AMSA team. They just cannot be on 2 AMSA teams.

| Message from the Board |
In the interest of full transparency, we want to keep all of our families informed about an important update affecting our program. Late this past fall, FAST was notified by Akron Public Schools that our pool rental fees would be increasing. These fees are directly tied to our coaching payroll. As our program continues to grow, we are committed to maintaining an appropriate swimmer-to-coach ratio, which results in higher payroll costs and, in turn, increased rental fees. We are grateful that Cindy was able to negotiate a reduced rate; however, the new fees are still nearly double what we have previously paid to APS. This increase is the primary reason for the adjustment in swimmer fees for the fall season. It also underscores why we ask families to notify us when their swimmer will be absent from practice. Paying coaches for unattended sessions increases payroll costs, which directly impacts our rental expenses. Looking ahead to the fall season, our goal is to avoid further increases in swimmer fees. To do so, we will need to host multiple meets to generate necessary revenue. Successfully hosting these meets depends on the support of our families through volunteer participation. With the merge with OH Swimming, our ability to host meets has shifted to predominately the Spring and Summer Seasons. These meets, however, impact all our swimmers year-around, so our families involvement in helping run these meets is very important, even if you may not be committed directly to FAST in the Spring and/or Summer Seasons. - A/B level that only wishes to train short course and not participate or minimal participation in meets during spring/summer (cannot be in this group at attend Sectionals/Above)
